Our summer has began rather quietly. Bishop has been ill today causing us to keep the house dim, cool and quiet. We also cancelled all appointments and eliminated most other activities. Thus, summer has been ushered in with a sense of quietude. Even the weather has been peaceful - clear blue skies, warm with a breeze. It has been a pleasant reprieve. Spring's weather was unpredictable and tumultuous and our schedule was hectic as we wrapped up our school year. And summer's pace will pick up soon enough with camps, vacation bible schools, reading programs, a road trip, and preparation for the school year that is just beginning. Despite Bishop's illness, I am so grateful for this day of quiet - a day to just breathe!
