Lifestyle of Learning 2015 Edition: Volume Twenty

August 16-22

For those in New York, Sunday found them going to see the "Best New Musical" of the year Fun Home, checking out Central Park and scoring some pastrami at the renowned Katz's deli.

On Monday Keegan and Maceo toured the Manhattan School of Music.  this is one of the schools that Maceo is considering attending.
And they spent their final evening at Rockefeller Center with family.  They went to the top of the rock!

In the meantime, Bishop and I returned to Kansas City so that we could pick up Maceo from the airport.  We had intended to go to a museum or two but they were closed.  Instead we settled for some BBQ.  But not just any BBQ but Joe's Kansas City BBQ.  Joe's made Anthony Bourdain's list of 13 places to eat before you die.  It is nothing fancy, in fact it is inside of this gas station's convenience store, but it is simply fantastic.  It is inspirational for a guy who has considered opening a BBQ joint!

We picked up Maceo from the airport, from a trip of a lifetime,...
and returned to our normal, busy lives.

Bishop went on a kayaking trip with his scout troop and had pottery class.

Maceo resumed Grease rehearsal logging 4 1/2 hours in a very short week.  He also performed at a church dinner at the request of one of their congregants.  What an honor.

Then while Maceo was at a sleepover and Bishop was still on his campout I went to a very special event - a music video release party for Cailee Spaeny.

We are so very blessed!  We have such a supportive family and we live in a supportive community surrounded by creative people and people with vision!  Blessed!
