Lifestyle of Learning 2017 Edition: Volume Thirty-Seven

October 8-14

This week in our lives...

Maceo began the week going into tech rehearsals for Rocky Horror and ended the week opening the show.
Maceo had pre-professional training acting instruction and troupe rehearsal.
Maceo did voice over work for a film made by Ozark International Outreach.
Bishop had scouts on Sunday.  The meeting was spent preparing for the upcoming Eagle Scout Court of Honor.  Again, Bishop was asked to lead the Color Guard.
 Maceo is learning the guitar.
Bishop had a field trip to our watershed center with his science group.
It was a nice hike (P.E.) and covered, among many other things, our local karst system...

...including an introduction to sink holes.
They discussed lichen and its value in biomonitoring (biology).

They learned about glades and savannah's in Missouri (biology).

They learned about environmental factors that the local ecologists keep track of to help monitor water quality (ecology).

And they examined a variety of plants (botany).

It was a great trip with a great presenter and a great group of friends.
So in one two-hour long field trip to the watershed center the kiddos were introduced to topics in geology, botany, biology and ecology.
Bishop went to the pottery studio and airbrushed this amazing piece of original design.

The week ended with Maceo doing three performances of Rocky Horror Show and Bishop attending the Eagle Scout Court of Honor of a fellow scout and friend.

I am certain that there are many things that I am failing to make note of.  I am sure that there were podcasts listened to, plays read, discussions had, etc. that I am not mentioning as we are always seeking to add to our knowledge base but I do believe that this is a decent representation of the flow of week - the flow of living and learning!
