A Most Inspiring Field Trip: Part One

Yesterday we made a special field trip to Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas.  We went to see the Chihuly in the Forest and Stuart Davis: In Full Swing exhibits.  The Chihuly exhibit is set to end soon so we pushed to get there and it was soooooo worth it.

The Chihuly in the Forest exhibit was inspiring.  Bishop has some ideas mulling around in his brain that combine ceramics, glass and nature.  He spoke of some of those as he walked through this exhibit.  Inspiring!

We saw Buckminster Fuller's Fly's Eye Dome...

...and the plans that Fuller had drawn up for the dome.

WE saw this amazing sculpture.  It is so much more dynamic in person as there are images coming over the screens.  So cool.

We saw abstract art that is part of their permanent collection.  It was loved by all.

We saw Maxfield Parrish...
...and other dynamic American paintings.

Another favorite for all of us was this sculpture entitled "Free".  Very powerful!

We didn't make it entirely through the permanent collection.  What we did manage to see was stunning and inspirational!!!
