Lifestyle of Learning 2017 Edition: Volume Three

January 15 - 21

Maceo watched Lion at our independent theater.
Maceo had Beauty and the Beast Jr. rehearsals - about 6.5 hours.
Bishop and Dad researched and discussed homemade barbecue sauces.
Maceo had touring company rehearsals (7 hours).
Bishop had his culinary internship.  He made cakes and is learning how to make them into cake truffles.
Maceo and the cast of Beauty and the Beast Jr. performed some song selections at the multicultural festival organized by our local university.

I had the opportunity to watch a couple of other performances at the festival.  I watched a trio perform Bob Marley's Redemption Song and some of our international students from Saudi Arabia performed some dances.  It was a fun experience.

Maceo had vocal lessons.
Bishop watched an episode of The Great British Baking Show.
Bishop played Fable 3.
Maceo went to youth performance troupe and teen players.
Bishop continued to draw.
Bishop went to a friends house for a birthday sleepover.  They played video games and talked D&D.
Maceo attended pre-professional training acting class and and improvisational acting class.
Bishop created a barbecue sauce.
Bishop and I had a LOT of conversation - in fact, too much to even sum up.  He is an amazing thinker!
I tried my hand at taking a headshot of Maceo for his upcoming audition.

We played trivia and word games.
Maceo went to preprofessional vocal production class.
We watched bits of the  inauguration; particularly our friends who sang for the inauguration with the MSU chorale.
Maceo watched the movies Elle and Jackie (for a second time).
Maceo went to the gym with a friend for a good workout.
Bishop had a scouting lock-in.  He played a lot of D&D.
Bishop did a couple of hours of open studio and glazed several pots.
Maceo walked to the YMCA and did a full body workout.
Maceo listened to film-related podcasts.
Bishop is working on getting all of our knives sharpened properly and is enjoying have Dad around to talk culinary stuff.
I took Christian to Joplin to visit a friend.  We had to deliver to him the fantasy football championship trophy.  Maceo won the first year, Christian won the following two years than I won last year so we took a photo of us with the trophy before relinquishing it.

The new champion was thrilled to receive the trophy and his Super Bowl ring.

Before returning home I went to Cunningham and Mercy Parks.  These parks are a wonderful combination of green space, space for family recreational use, and a memorial for the victims and survivors of the massive tornado that ripped through this very area in May of 2011.

It was very powerful!

Still living and learning!!!
